INTRODUCTION

All Mardouw’s Extra Virgin Olive Oils are pure, natural oils made from olives grown and processed according to the highest quality and technology standards, consistently guaranteeing free fatty acid and peroxide values of well below internationally required standards.

Their consistency of producing super premium EVOO’s has been acknowledged by receiving the highest local and international accolades since 2017 as well as being SA’s most awarded extra virgin olive oils the past 3 years.

HISTORY

Every journey begins with a single step. André Verder took that first step in 2002, when he fell in love with a piece of land at the foot of the Langeberg Mountains near Swellendam.

With the expertise of the Agricultural Faculty at the University of Stellenbosch, he planted 50.000 new trees to replace old vines, taking advantage of the much treasured water that comes down from the mountains to fill the Mardouw’s wells and dams.

The advantage of having started less than a quarter of a century ago, is that we could benefit from the latest techniques for planting trees: high-density orchards, with trees reaching no more than 3m, so that the branches and fruits receive the maximum exposure to sunlight, which translates into healthy and full-flavoured fruit.
